Talk about prawn noodle soup, there's a few stalls that comes to mind, and this stall is one of it.
Call it a placebo effect, but based on a few blogs, the broth here is cooked without any pork bones. I find it refreshing, different, but it stills pack a punch. I can't describe it, you have to try it for yourself.
Ordered a dry version, meehoon mee, nice, few crunchy lards on top. Delicious.
Comes with huge prawns, as I mentioned earlier, I absolutely adore the soup, it just tasted supreme. And here's the catch, after quietly queuing I normally order the 10 sgd one, hence the prawns are big, and the food nazi auntie is nice. I've read of her legendary nazi, I officially saw it with my own eyes with the person in front of me, and I personally saw her from nazi to friendly when I ordered mine. Do not say I did not warn you. All in all, this is a mean wicked bowl of prawn noodle soup.

Heaven's Indian Curry @ Ghim Moh Market and Food Centre, Singapore.
Usual weekend breakfast, was craving for thosai again. Decided to check this particular stall out in Ghim Moh market. I kinda like this food centre, all sorts of foods and people.
This stall had a queue, luckily for me, it wasn't long before I placed my order.
Ghee onion thosai, with a piece of vadai on the side. Beautifully done, another place I have found to serve a killer thosai, and the best part? The curry was good too.

The Flying Squirrel @ Amoy St, Singapore.
Tucked in an alley, small restaurant with few seats at the bar, and maybe 10 tables. I like this joint already, very cosy.
An Asahi pint to lighten up the palate while waiting for my friend to arrive.
Ordered uni shots to start the ball rolling, sake was ok, but the uni was marvelous.
Truffled ebi fry for appetisers, it is good. Beautifully fried with a nicely done crusts.
And we ordered the TFS chirashi for mains. Nicely portioned, and the anago was delicious. This days, I'm spoiled for choices, hence I rather order a chirashi and get a taste of everything.
For desserts, actually we were a bit plastered by the sake, and couldn't get enough of the uni, wanted something light, my friend suggested we try the negi toro tataki (mince tuna belly topped with uni). For 10 sgd a pop, boy was it delicious. A spoonful packed of flavours.
A nice joint I would come back to after a hard days work to unwind, some happy hours and a quick bite.

Haven't been back here for quite some time, then a friend of mine showed me a link they were having an oyster festival promo. I still had the craving for oysters from my melbourne trip, guess had to check it out:) This post actually spans over two trips in the same week! First was a weekend lunch, it was so good, came back with another bunch on tuesday night to enjoy the 1.50 sgd oyster promo(every tues!).
There were basically three of us for the lunch, and our mains were basically sampling all the oysters. I honestly know nuts about oysters, we left it to the friendly server to recommend, and boy did he do a great job. 8 types of oysters for each of us.
I can't recall all the names, but I do know they were from Australia, Canada and the United States.
Ok the verdict, it all tasted good, except the huge ones which was the size of my palm. I found that one a little bit too creamy. My taste buds prefer the briny one, lovely. Although the oyster festival is over, was informed they still bring in some of the oysters which was featured. A must try is the Tsarskaya oyster.
Clam chowder soup, well portioned and creamy.
Soft shell crab salad, some greens to balance our lunch. Nicely done.
Battered squid, another favourite dish of mine. It was a lovely lunch, very chilled out.
This is the tuesday dinner part, 1.50 sgd a pop. Oh how we went nuts, I have to say, the oyster taste fresh., No complains here.
Seafood platter to share, it was HUGE, reckon can feed 3 people nicely.
Aglio olio which I have to say, they do that good here, try order the spicy one. Fish and chips, good stuff, and if I'm not mistaken the other dish was a cod on something aha:)
This place is unpretentious, I reckon the pricing is decent, the food is excellent, and bottom line, it's fresh. Keep up the good work boys.

Pizzeria Mozza @ MBS, Singapore.
One of my favourites for a casual dining place for some pizzas and friendly on the wallet. Only problem is, better call for reservations as they can get packed.
Complimentary bread, crispy, lovely.
Goat cheese lentil, the cheese was executed with perfection, lentil was nice.
My favourite, oven baked bone marrow. Nicely cut and use a spoon to scoop it up. Sinfully delicious.

Now this was the bone marrow earlier on top of the bread. Killer!
Some cold cuts to share (we weren't planning on ordering this but after a bottle of red wine...). Nice selection and decently portioned.
Our first pizza was the meat lover pizza. Meat carnivore, pizza was thin crust, except on the edge puffed up. I kinda like this style of pizza. Generous portions for the fillings, and love the pizza dough.
Second pizza was funghi pizza. As always the pizza dough is lovely, but I reckon the toppings on this one was a bit too healthy. I'll stick to my meats. They served killer pizzas and without no doubt hence it's always packed.

Newton Circus Food Centre is well known for their hawker food, conveniently located, numerous of stalls and a good place to bring some beginner tourists to sample the local food. It can be pricey at times, but luckily the food maintains its good standards.
They sell carrot cake and oyster omelette.
Various bbq seafood and such.
Sambal sotong/squid with petai/smelly beans and anchovies. I just love the petai, not shy on their portions and the sambal goes well with rice.
Now ain't that a beauty, cockles. This was the main reason for tonight's dinner as a friend of mine wanted to eat this. The cockles were blanched 3/4 hence was nearly cooked and not bloody enough, I find it alright, but next round I'm gonna tell them to do it 50%. Pair it with the dipping sauce, absolutely heaven. Just make sure you've done your Hep B booster beforehand.
Bbq stingray, the gravy on top is highly addictive, again dip it in the sambal on the side. Good stuff!
The other star dish of the night was this fried oyster omelette. Huge pieces of oysters, with gooey yet sometimes crispy crunchy bits of the omelette. You have to order this, seriously try it.

Mrs Pho @ Beach Road, Singapore.
Found another gem the other day, was still on my pho mode when a colleague of mine mentioned to me to check this place out.
Check that chilli out, not the usual chilli oil that I have with pho, but this is good stuff. Looks mild but packed a punch.
Was feeling a bit greedy and ordered fresh spring roll for starters. Nice, coupled with the sauce, the taste was excellent.
Special beef combo pho, just like I my pho. Filled with beef and spareparts.
A bit of the chilli oil for some spicyness.
This is a first for me, maybe it's their original style, a small soup bowl on the side with an egg. It actually taste refreshing. Nice!
Added a few more teaspoons of chilli oil, the broth is good, full of flavour. Beef slices and balls are done well, spareparts are done just right. This place literally rocks. Another pho gem for me. Thumbs up!

Haven't been to this stall for ages, and as I just came back from melbourne, I still had the craving for bratwursts. He has since shifted and moved into a coffeeshop, not far where he was located previously.
He has now expanded and sells home made bread as well.
Bratwursts with sauerkraut, still taste good. A bit pricey but hey, this is the best/authentic as you can get in Singapore.

Chye Seng Huat Hardware @ Tyrwhitt Road, Singapore.
Being a hipster again, was looking for a perfect cuppa. This post actually spans over two different coffee sessions at the same joint. Guess I like this place;)

A killer latte, reckon one of the best I have come across in Singapore. Not too bitter, just a nice balance to it. Top marks. Was suppose to try the cold brew for my second cuppa, but the latte was just too good, ended up ordered a second one.

Next round I was here, had to try the cold brew coffee. Honestly, this didn't fancy me. I'll stick to my hot latte anytime. I like this place, as there's ample sitting area, and on both accounts, I managed to get a table straight away.

Ramen Matsuri @ Boat Quay, Singapore.
Had some drinks over at Boat Quay, and I was raving to a colleague of mine about this ramen chicken sakura stock. Did a pit stop here before continuing on for more drinks. And boy was I disappointed, they discontinued it. Seems the locals love more on the pork broth, so they serve pork and pork+chicken broth.
This round I opted for a shoyu ramen. Not bad, they discontinued something, but I found another favourite.

Add some crispy garlic, lovely. The shoyu stock was clear not empowering, add the garlic some nice balance to it. The noodles was good, egg nicely done. A good quick perk me up meal.
