Manbok Chinatown @ Chinatown, Singapore.

A bunch of us was meeting for a weekend lunch, and one of them had some craving for korean food. Read a few good reviews and decided to give it a go. The best part? It's buffet style and the lunch only cost 18sgd nett!

Ingredients for the army stew.

Basic starters/sides some salads, kimchi (which is good!) and deserts some fresh cut fruits.

Yes this is the meat part, basically you get marinated chicken, some pork cuts, beef, squid and octopus. There's also the other section which they serve cooked stuff, rice rolls, steam rice, japchae (honestly the japchae is good, but I try to refrain myself from eating a lot, and focus more on the grilled meats) and soup.

From another section, concoct your own dipping sauce and grab some lettuce leaves to go with the grilled meats. You get one grilling plate and the one on the left, is like a mini steamboat for you to cook the army stew.

The meat selection is pretty decent for the price you pay. I like the ambience, good conversation with friends over good food.

I find the army stew enjoyable actually, more like cooking your own instant noodle with loads of good stuff. Just put in the chilli paste up to your preference, add some noodles, eggs, greens, tofu and some other items  Quite soothing to end the meal. For the price we paid per pax, I can't find any fault with this place. The food is replenished fast, servers are friendly and the quality of food is decent.
