Prawn Noodle Nibong Tebal @ Restoran Jin Hochiak Kopitiam @ Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

Another one end of the world, but as a good friend of my recommended it, had to check it out.

There's quite a few number of stalls in this kopi tiam but my mission today is to seek out the prawn noodle.

7 ringgit well worth every penny spent. Portions was generous, soup taste was there, enjoyable bowl of prawn noodle.

Teochew Seng Kee Pulau Ketam Fishball Noodle Shop @ Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

If there's an award for a mouthful long name for a shop, I'll definitely submit this one.

Menu is pretty straight forward, I ordered a dry koew teow mee hoon with a bowl of soup that consists of some fish balls, fish paste, ufo and dunno what's the other item called.

Ain't that a beauty, the noodles were done just right. The soup had a nice clear taste to it and the stuff inside was fresh. Awesome.

I came back again for second round and ordered the slice fish porridge. This is even better. Note to myself, order the fish soup and add ons the fish paste, balls etc. This is a wholesome meal.

Restoran Long Kei @ Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

Found an awesome place serving chee cheong fun plus yong tau foo. Simple menu on display, fast and efficient.

The ccf was factory made, but the ytf and the sauces are a killer. Normally I'll just order the black sauce and chilli, but as this was my first time here, decided to give it a nice dollop of curry.

Service is good, heard it's a family business, they're pretty friendly. I'll be back!

Restoran Thai Somtam Seafood @ Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL, Malaysia.

Been hearing good reviews about this place in Changkat Bukit Bintang for Thai, managed to check it out for lunch one day.

We ordered a beef green curry and chicken tomyam. Green curry was delicious, had a nice thick lemak taste to it. Now the tomyam, woah this is the bomb, nice fiery spicy kick to it, sweet and sourish. Even though I'm sweating profusely I just can't stop slurping the soup down.

We also had a somtam which I have to say, well the restaurants name itself is somtam. Just order it, you won't be disappointed. Food is good.

Ayam Gepuk Pak Gebus @ Keramat, KL, Malaysia.

This place is nuts, the queue, the environment (no aircon), the sambal (even crazier hot), but boy this place serves a wicked ayam penyet.

Menu is self explanatory, first time here we chose set D with the whole works. Then you decide your sambal level, least spiciest(wuss) or medium/normal or max(do it!). Check out how they grind the fresh chillies, yummy!

Servings were good, got a quarter chicken, some liver? lungs? Tauhu, tempe and  the fried cabbage omg sinful but beautiful. I had the normal level of sambal, hits the right spot, sweating profusely in an already hot restaurant.

Their ayam penyet is superb, food is good and pair it with the sambal, umami. I'm definitely coming back here next week.

Only U Restaurant @ Glenmarie, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

A hidden gem in Glenmarie Industrial Park is this coffee shop which serves noodles such as curry mee, Ipoh hor hee, prawn noodle and asam laksa.

First time here I had the Ipoh hor hee, the soup was clear but its tasty. The hor fun was silky smooth and the portions were generous. On my friends recommendation I ordered the fried fish ball below. Oh how this little suckers pack a punch, taste wise it reminds me of keropok lekor.

Came back here shortly after a few days to try the curry mee with of course the fried fishball. The broth had a rich curry taste but not to the point of you getting jelak. No wonder I see a lot people eating the curry noodles. I slurped the bowl down till the last drop. Oh the fried fishball, dunked in the soup absorbed the curry taste, pure heaven.

Definitely coming back here to try the asam laksa and prawn noodles.

The Magnificent Fish & Chips Bar @ Changkat Bukit Bintang, KL, Malaysia.

Been quite some time since I came here for its fish and chips, nearly as good as those you can find in the UK.

If you're looking for a place that serves all day breakfast, you can have it here. A mate of mine ordered it and it does look scrumptious.

Another mate ordered the prawn burger, he said it was so so but the guy do have an atas tastebud lah.

One thing I love about this place is they sell a variety of fishes for their fish & chips. I opted for a halibut this round. Came in a basket nicely battered fish, thick cut fries and tartar sauce with a lemon wedge. Pour some vinegar on top squeeze the lemon, perfect. Down it with a pint of beer and that's what I call a good lunch.

Siti Li @ Damansara Heights, KL, Malaysia.

Tucked in a quiet section of Damansara Heights is this small row of shoplots. Use to come here for Decanter and still going strong after all this years. Now I reckon there's a new kid on the block worth coming for.

Ordered a cucur udang for starters, freaking excellent. A mate of mine ordered the laksa johor.

I had the soto ayam and another friend ordered the nasi lemak which the photo was blur I didn't post it. Honestly, I don't think so I've tasted this good local fare unless somebody is cooking at home. The food is a bit on the high side, but the portions and the taste reflects the quality ingredients they put in. That's my 2 cents anyway. Bottom line if you're looking for a taste of home cooked local fare, this is one of those places.

Bonus tip order the chokodok for desserts, those tiny suckers sure packed a punch.
