Mak's Noodle @ Central, Hong Kong.

Last time I had this was ages ago, and I think it was the Causeway Bay branch. I actually didn't know what I was eating as my friend brought me there, and didn't give much thought of it. Now I'm back at the Central branch to jog my memory.

Now, the bowl is actually rather small, so you probably need two of it, or order other dishes. The broth was very light, nothing to shout about. But add some red vinegar, it definitely brought out some other dimensions to it. Wanton was excellent, and the noodles were nice.

Tsim Chai Kee Noodle @ Central, Hong Kong.

So here I was for lunch, after much anticipation, yes it is good.

Order the trio set, fish ball, beef slices and prawn wanton. Soup was light, had a clean taste to it. Fishball was huge and tasty. Love the beef slices, and the wanton was good.

Yup, that's the queue alright, kinda fast moving though. Would I be back, definitely.

Tsui Wah Restaurant @ Central, Hong Kong.

After drinks supper, Tsui Wah is definitely one of the places to go to satisfy late night hunger pangs.

Beef brisket noodle soup, this trip to HK, I was actually whacking more beef than usual, not sure why but I find the beef slightly tastier here. More chemical? tenderiser ? Who knows. Anyway can't go wrong with most of Tsui Wah dishes, fast and tastes good. I slurped the whole bowl clean.

The beef hor fun was another good dish as well. So if your done drinking and pub crawling at LKF, Tsui Wah is definitely worth to check out for supper.

Yung Kee Restaurant @ Central, Hong Kong.

Still on my roasted meat hunting spree, we came here for dinner. The legendary Yung Kee, loath it or love it, this place is well known for its roasted goose and century egg.

Honestly I thought this was just an ordinary century egg, my friend told me put a few slices of ginger on top, and dunk the sucker in. Holy guacamole, this shit is the bomb. Freaking good stuff.

Egg omelette with prawns, another must order. Eggs were silky and smooth, almost fluffy like, light on the stomach.

Roasted goose, it is good, which is why they are famous for it. I like the century egg moreeeee!

Beef brisket in claypot, can't stop munching on this. I will definitely order this next round. It was a good and satisfying dinner instead. Good service, top notch joint.

Yat Lok Restaurant @ Central, Hong Kong.

Came here to check out the famous roasted goose drumstick on rice. Thought I was being smart by coming here around 2pm to avoid the lunch crowd, yes managed to get a seat easily, but NO drumstick sold out. Talk about mega disappointment, sigh.

Roasted goose on rice, for 50HKD. It looked plain to me compared to the couple opposite of me who was sharing a big chunk of drumstick. One bite of this sucker and I was like woah, brings back memories of Four Seasons or Goldmine in London (although that was duck). The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. Best part they also serve chilli oil on the side. The whole meal itself was perfect, I am definitely coming back here next round for the freaking drumstick!

Golden China Restaurant @ Central, Hong Kong.

I was still trying to get my bearings right by lunch time, late night early wake up, unfamiliar territory. Luckily I was with a few friends that brought me to lunch here, roast meats.

Looks old school, opened since 1963. Small setup inside, usual HK style, rental is high, maximize table and seating space, crammed, eat fast and get out. Thankfully the food was awesome, sinful but yummy.

Some greens to balance out the diet, pair it with the oyster sauce, good stuff.

The white chicken went very well with the spring onion sauce. I actually poured most of that sauce and mix it with the white rice, super addictive. Not sure whether was it goose or duck, tasted damn good though.

This should be the char siu and siu yoke, correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't know how they did it, the skin was super crispy. All in all, a very satisfying lunch indeed. Oh by the way, I did get my bearings right after lunch.

Mad For Garlic @ Suntec City, Singapore.

A quick lunch at Suntec City, and we decided to check this place out.

The menu is straight forward and simple, prices are decent.

Had a caesar salad to share, the sauce was addictive. Sinful but delicious.

Dracula killer, I kinda liked this, simple on presentation but the flavours are plentiful.

Garlic snowing pizza, another dish executed perfectly. Actually, the first 3 dishes had a generous amount of cheese on top, aha I guess that's why everything tasted good.

This pasta dish was a shocker, my friend chose this pasta to share. I reckon out of the lot, this was the star dish for lunch. Light, easy and full on taste; or maybe I was just too jelak from all the cheese earlier. I'll definitely order the pasta again.

Alrahman Kitchen @ Geylang Serai Market And Food Centre, Singapore.

So here I am back again at Geylang Serai, this round I was craving for some soto ayam with lontong. Actually it's more craving for the sambal chilli soya sauce, and this place luckily did not disappoint me.

Hmmm, soto babat on the menu, that's kinda funky, reckon will try that next round.

Simple soto ayam with a piece of begedil(potato cutlet), lontong(rice cakes), shredded chicken, some taugehs, fried shallots and the black chilli. Good stuff, the soup was light but yet packs a punch with the chilli mixed in.

JB Ah Meng @ Geylang, Singapore.

After binge drinking in the afternoon, dinner and more drinks before heading home, somebody mentioned supper in Geylang. Why not? I'm still gamed for more drinks and a bit of food. After some drunk googling, we decided to check out this place for the chao tar bee hoon and some sze char.

I'll try my best again to describe each dish, reckon this was the porky dish.

Deep fried fish skins paired with thai chilli sauce. Oh man this was good, seriously.

And the other star dish of the night, the chao tar bee hoon, or some people call it san lau mi fen. I personally haven't tried the original Johor Bahru version, but I find this one kicks ass. Maybe a trip to JB is in order.

Something dragon vegetable, seems everywhere it's a hype. Don't get me wrong, this dish works, I like it.

Some sliced fish head dish, good and tasty.

Last was the kung pao chicken, it was alright. Or maybe I was stuffed from the other dishes. I think I've found another favourite joint for supper, the food is good and I love the lorong/lane ambience. Oh I was a bit put off as they don't serve beers anymore being the alcohol ban in Geylang after certain hours etc. I miss the good old times sobering up having supper while washing down beers in the wee hours.

Jack's Kitchen @ Old Airport Road Food Centre, Singapore.

I was raving about the chicken chop to a friend of mine, and she recommended me to try this stall which serves curry chicken or pork cutlet on rice. Back here again at Old Airport Road next day.

Go for carbs, seriously go for carbs.

This huge portion costs 3.50sgd, chicken cutlet curry on rice. May look simple, but the curry was actually pretty decent. I can't actually pin point what style is it, Jap? Hainanese? Or maybe a combination of both? Same same but different if you get what I mean. Bottom line, it satisfied my curry cravings. Definitely on my list of stalls for Airport Road Food Centre.

Western Barbeque @ Old Airport Road Food Centre, Singapore.

Had this massive craving for old school chicken shop. I remembered my friend told me to check out this place, and boy was it worth every penny.

6sgd chicken chop with the works plus the bun too. The normal chicken chop doesn't come with gravy, so make sure you ask for the garlic sauce, adds a certain zing to it. Portion was generous, the chicken was done nicely with a bit burnt here and there. I see a lot of people having the mixed grill, think it was 8sgd. Definitely gonna try that one out next time.
