YTF for breakfast, yeahhh. I think I've found another personal favourite for my ytf fix.
The queue can be long at times, but the turnaround is fast, talk about efficiency!:) And the best part, the auntie is very friendly and chatty.
This round I wasn't sure what to go for and I let the auntie decide for me, went for a dry version with bee hoon. Check out the chilli plus the sweet sauce and generous portions of fried shallots.
Comes with a small soup on the side.
Absolutely gorgeous. I'll recommend to pick more of the fried ytfs, as I found those gems to be uber licking good.

MTR 1924 Vegetarian Restaurant @ Serangoon Road, Singapore.
Now this place a friend of mine recommended to me, did my usual breakfast weekend fix and boy was he right.
A masala dosa. This is one of the meanest good piece version of dosa I've come across after some time. The hefty price justifies it. Good awesome stuff. The potatoes stuffed inside lasted me way after lunch.
A filter coffee, not bad.

Merdeka Garden Curry Mee @ Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
If your hungry late at night, and if your craving curry mee, or koew teow kicap, this place or literally a stall with decks of chairs and table by the roadside is definitely a local institution. This is my first time visiting after they swapped locations (hence people called it merdeka garden curry mee, as it used to be located there), still run by the same uncle and auntie.
Ordered my usual koew teow kicap, check out the nice chilli sauce I added on top, killer.
And my ytf in curry broth.
Just beautiful, the ytf soaks up the curry, uber delicious, and koew teow in Ipoh? You can't go wrong. I'm a very happy man, haven't had this in years, and the taste is still there. Top notch stuff.
Merdeka Garden Curry Mee,
Jalan Labrooy, 31400,
Ipoh, Perak,

I tried googling for the proper address, can't find it. But just do a google search for Merdeka Garden Curry Mee, you can find the map there.

Kedai Kopi Sun Yuan Foong @ Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
Back to my ccf craving, another coffee shop which is famous for its white coffee but there's a stall that does ccf in there. Weeee two birds with one stone :)
Good freaking stuff, portions was ample and it hit the spot.
I was feeling extra greedy, so I ordered their specialty, toast bread with half boil egg on top (make sure you add the soya sauce and white pepper as per usual) and a white coffee to wash it down. The bread was a bit cold but the egg made it up. The coffee? You can't go wrong with white coffee in Ipoh, just lovely.

Mee Kicap @ Mee Daud Mat Jasak, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
Ipoh is all about the noodles, and this in particular is the least talked about. Mee Kicap is a simple dish of just tossing the noodles in soya sauce(not sure what's the concoction of thick or light soya and maybe oil?) and normally served with your choice of yong tau foo either in curry or clear broth.
The ytf for your pickings.
Opted for yellow noodles and koew teow, drizzled with the soya sauce, some taugehs and fried shallots on top.
Ytf dunked in curry broth, not bad. Now the trick of eating this is pair it with the fiery chilli sauce. Give a generous dollop on the noodles, mix it all in, slurp it up. Scoop up the broth and have a taste of if, pick the ytf and dunk it in the same chilli sauce on the side. Repeat. Sinful but good.

Directions as you enter Jalan Dato Onn Jaafar from Jalan Sultan Iskandar, it should be the 1st left corner coffee shop next to a lorong/lane.

Chee Cheong Fun @ Kedai Kopi Keng Nam, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
I've been on this chee cheong fun/ccf craving for the longest time. This coffee shop is more well known for their curry mee and pulut kaya, but they also have a ccf stall inside. Woo hoo!
Check this baby out, Ipoh ccf, basic stuff, chilli, sesame seeds, fried shallots, oil and served with cut pickled green chilli. Lacking of looks but bursting with taste.
Pair it with white coffee, simple breakfast but a satisfying meal.

Hor Hee @ Restoran Li Heng Fatt, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.
I was suppose to check out this place for brunch, but on a late afternoon dying of hunger, I decided to come here instead of joining the mad queues for brunch.
He he, and the place was quiet and so many empty tables yay! This was around 5ish-6 pm.
A bowl of hor hee, I opted for hor fun. Comes in a nice bowl of lightly flavoured broth, and generous amount of sliced fish cakes, fish balls, and I think was a fish wan ton. The whole package was just deliciously yummy goodness.
A glass of (correct me if I'm wrong again) umbra juice with sour plum. Sweet salty sour taste to the extreme but hits all the right spots.
A humble coffee shop that sells a good bowl of noodles in the old town part of Ipoh.

Little Vietnam Restaurant and Cafe @ Guillemard, Singapore.
I've been eyeing this place for quite some time, and luckily it's one of those after work happy hours I managed to drag my friends here. Yay more food to order and sample:D
Fried spring rolls to share, quite tasty. Goes well with the beers.
Mango salad, I kinda liked this. It was so good my friend ordered another portion.
For mains, I ordered my usual favourite, mixed beef pho. The broth was light, but it still managed to capture the essence of the beef.
The killer dish of the night, fried quail. This tender juicy little bird is a must order, absolutely delicious.
Balitongs in thick spicy coconut gravy (reckon their version of masak lemak pedas). Quite good.
For desserts, another friend ordered this dish. I seriously don't know what's it called, I suspect some flour egg pancake based thingy. What a description right.
I like the ambience very much, casual no nonsense setting with a chill out vibe. Go for the outdoor tables as your seated next to the river and it feels like your not in Singapore.

Xin Heng Feng Guo Tiao Tan @ Whampoa Market, Singapore.
Once in while during happy hours a guy in the group will pull a stunt and suggest dinner, not every time it'll work as most of us will continue drinking and cab home, but this was the other time we succumbed to it and boy was the guy recommending it hit the spot. What's not to love a good pot of hot piping charcoal steamboat.
Unassuming stall in a hawker centre at night, where most of the stalls on this block was closed. It seems in the morning they sell fishball noodles and at night fishhead steamboat. Talk about enterprising.
We ordered dishes as well to complement the steamboat. This was the duck wings, looks simple but was flavourful.
Pickled vegetables, which paired with the hot steaming white rice, with the broth from the steamboat, just simple pleasures in life. Yummy!
Some tau pok, I'm just a sucker for tau pok, absolutely delicious as they soaked up the gravy.
And the star of the dish, batang fish steamboat. The broth packs a punch, portions was generous and damn it, I feel like going there again for dinner soon as I'm writing this.
Mystery bonus! One of my mates went to the other block and tapaued this orh luak(oyster egg omelette) to complement our dinner. This is one wicked awesome tasting orh luak. I shall be back to find out more on this dish.
