Mama Kim Sauna Mee @ Desa Sri Hartamas, KL, Malaysia.

Freshly hangover I was walking about in Desa Sri Hartamas and I stumbled upon this place. I heard about Mama Kim chain and when I saw it, straight I went in.

And boy was it a good hangover cure. It was so good I was here two days in a row for brunch. The broth had a nice clean flavour to it, the noodles were perfect. And the sambal had a nice zing kick to it.

On my second trip my friend ordered the sotong to share. Oh the tea below is good as well, noodle soup and tea is always a good cure for hangover I think ;)

Restoran Chong Toong Kee @ TTDI, KL, Malaysia.

Finally managed to check out this place in Taman Tun. No frills place that serve chicken rice, Ipoh hor fun and taugeh.

Yups I think this is the closest deal you can get in KL that tasted like Ipoh taugeh style. Short plumpy and crunchy and with that sauce, arghhh yummy.

I opted for the hor fun and boy was it smack licking delicious. Food is good no doubt and I'm sure the chicken rice would not be a let down. Gonna come back here next round to try the chicken rice.

Banh Mi Hoa Ma @ Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

I'm actually quite thankful for this trip, as this round I was purely focusing on being a bum, laze back and drink some beers. Luckily I had a good buddy of mine who chose where to go and eat this trip. Last day out of here, he dragged me for a banh mi op la. The heck is that I thought to myself, oh well I'm still hangover off we went each on a grab bike.

Oh my it's sort of a big breakfast with eggs and other stuff. Yeah just the greasy goodness I needed for a brekkie.

The baguette served with butter and pate on the side. The baguettes here are amazing. Now check that small wok, loaded with greasy pick me up I'm gonna start the day feeling fresh and 2nd round of beers (oh shit I'm flying out, guess we'll continue at the airport).

Yups definitely one of the highlights on my trip, got to check out this place for an open face banh mi. Confirmed plus chopped next trip in HCM, I'll be back here for brekkie.

Banh Xeoh 46A @ Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

My oh my another food adventure, I'm quite happy this trip around everything was done walking or  via Grab. Talk bout convenience sake.

Gotta order those spring rolls, don't they look pretty. Thankfully, I guess by the number of foreigners on the other tables, they have English menu.

Springs roll were good , decent size prawns and actually pack a wallop.

Again they're not shy here with their prawns, loads of ingredients, love the outer bits of the Banh Xeoh as it had a nice crispy charred to it and soft in the middle. This actually goes well with beers on a hot afternoon.

Banh Mi Huynh Hoa @ Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

After the scrumptious breakfast did a bit of walking and started bia Saigon. Totally oblivious of time, hunger pangs, friend brought me to this place for banh mi.

Check out the amount of stuff they put inside the banh mi. There's no seats here so you have to eat it by the road side or tapau home.

I dare say one of the best banh mi I've tasted, packed with ingredients and a hearty meal. Job well done my friend for dragging me here.

Bun Bo Hue Nam Giao @ Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Haven't had a bun bo hue in ages, went to check out this old institution here smack in backpacker central District 1.

Nice array of colours, broth kinda red and yes it's spicy woah. But just nice.

Some lime and veges to complete the meal. Decent amount of meats. I love the broth. Good stuff to wake up your senses early morning after a heavy night out.

5KU Station @ Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

After a hard day boozing in district 1, I asked the waiter for a good bbq grilling restaurant. He pointed me to this location and boy was it good.

Simple bbq setup with some charcoals, you have to order the beef. That was my favourite dish of the night. We ordered some octopus, see ham amd tofu.

Oh yes, do order the orh chien /oyster omelette. Superb. Wonderful place to have some bites over beers.

Kedai Kopi Ho Kow @ Lorong Panggung, KL, Malaysia.

Found a good breakfast spot which opens early, seems some of the menu here changes daily. Except some stuff like the eggs and toast.

Pair it with a good cup of kopi, this is what breakfasts is all about. Not bad, the chilli sauce brand they use here is Kampong Koh.

Friend beehoon mee on top. Sometimes they have the black carrot cake below, sometimes noodle soup. You can also order from the uncle next door some chee cheong fun with ytf, which I find quite awesome.

Frankie Char Koew Teow @ Restoran 8888, Damansara Perdana, PJ, Selangor, Malaysia.

I was in this neighbourhood one day and been wanting to check out the ckt at this place for quite some time.

Ordered a small plate with duck egg, I find the portion quite generous, decent amount of see hams and prawns. The taste? Yeap it hits the spot alright, lovely.

Restoran Soon Leong @ Kapar, Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.

Awesome old school place for early brunch.

We ordered a few dishes as there was only two of us. Loved the fish cooked in a thai sauce, salty a bit of spicy, some sweetness. Good balance. Non pretentious place serving home cooked meal.

Mee Goreng @ Saleems Stall/Navvir Caterers, Bangsar, KL, Malaysia.

After reading online about this stall, had a sudden urge to check it out. Haven't had a good mamak mee goreng in a while.

Friend ordered a mee rebus, I had a bite of it, the sauce is good. I had the mee goreng below, superb. No wonder people rave about it. There's a nice kick to it plus the addition of prawn crackers was freaking addictive.

Champ's Chicken Rice @ Restoran Yum Me Place, KL, Malaysia.

Back at this kopi tiam for lunch, one server caught my eye. He was wearing a Champ's uniform, could it be the same Champ's from BSC? Found out, they run a roast meat/chicken rice stall here.

Couldn't decide whether to get steamed or roasted, ordered a mixture of both. Slightly friendly wallet price and the food is freaking good.

Man's Cafe Asam Pedas @ Kampung Baru, KL, Malaysia.

Had a sudden urge to have asam pedas, off I went to check out this restaurant in Kampung Baru.

I took stingray/ikan pari asam pedas, some plain rice and an egg omelette.

Yup, it hits the spot alright. Had just the nice tang to it and not overly spicy. Good stuff.
