Kazu Sumi-Yaki Restaurant @ Cuppage Plaza, Singapore.

Where do you go to catch up with some old friends, have a nice chat, good food and good liquor/s? A japanese yakitori joint. Skewered meat on sticks + sake/beer, perfect.

To start the ball rolling, a cold sake to line up the stomach.

A starter to share, some octopus, a bit of uni, salmon roe, this is nice.Think we ordered from the black board daily specials.

The menu is extensive, my recommendation is get the guide to recommend, and which ever is your liking, just order it. Be it chicken/beef/pork meat, spare parts, try it, everything is done to the perfection here.

A definitely must order is the foie gras, oh man it just melts in your mouth. Good stuff!

This is by far the most expensive item we ordered, a 100gm wagyu steak, 40sgd. It's good, i kinda actually liked it. I normally would refrain from ordering sushi/sashimi or steak at a yakitori joint, but my friend actually made a good call by ordering it.

Lamb yaki, another thing i won't normally order, but they did it well. Nice amount of fats around the lamb meat, lovely.

As for desserts, a Yaki Crepe, i think the picture said for itself.

This place is one of my tops for yakitori, but i have to say, i was shocked when i went this round, the place has been renovated. And with all places being renovated, it means only one thing, price went up, inflation is creeping in. Without no doubt, the quality of the food is still good, but i miss the old settings, crammed up, a unisex toilet in the restaurant(now it's only a female toilet left) and the slightly burnt smoked smell on my clothes when i leave the place. But hey, people gotta change, evolved and adapt to new times. Word of advice, please call and make reservations.
