Oyster BBQ Tokueimaru 徳栄丸 @ Itoshima, Fukuoka, Japan.

Woke up a bit late but thankfully managed to get here slightly after opening time. Was a nice drive to get here, plenty of free parking in front. This place rocks, one row of restaurants all selling more or less the same thing. They are only open during the oyster hut season so do check before coming. My fried did all the research and I was the designated driver lol. Anyway we randomly pick a restaurant and this is what we got.

Love the atmosphere here, laid back, mostly locals place is airy and comfortable. So many options to choose for seafood.

I think that notice is the table charge and max seating per session is 90 mins. Ordered the oysters and boy was it smacking good. Definitely fresh and you can taste the sea.

We went for the charcoal instead of gas. Everything was fresh, even the sausages tasted good(ordered twice).

The sashimi was an absolute delight. Yummy! More oysters we ordered and one portion of a collar bone of forgot what fish it was.

I love it, one of my favourite spots for eating on this trip. Service was fast and the staff? They even helped us book a slot on a strawberry farm. Very friendly, definitely 5 stars in my book. Thank you so much for serving us ;)

Nishijin Hatsuki Kuten Hakata Store 西新初喜くうてん博多店 @ Hakata Station, Fukuoka, Japan.

Another day another lunch and todays menu is syabu-syabu. This place is located in Amu Plaza. Amu plaza have two floors of restaurants and when we went during lunch time, there was queue everywhere. Damn so many people during rush hour, quite mad.

There were two sauces to pair with your meats and vege. The appetiser was nice, beer was refreshing.
We ordered one of the beef sets, check out the marbling, oh my!

Very very luxurious, portions were good enough for the two of us. We didn't top up any ala carte.

The meal was excellent, slowly enjoyed my lunch. I love the ambience in here, restaurant was big and airy. Had a zen like feel to it, unlike the outside which was full of human traffic.

Indocurry Hakata Station @ Fukuoka, Japan.

Time for some Japanese style curry rice. As usual you can find any cuisine at the Hakata Station. Saw this shop as we were walking around and decided to check it out.

Menu is English friendly and they have tonnes of options to go with your curry rice.

My mates plate above and mine below. Oh my this is such a hearty meal. Portions were huge and the curry? Hits the spot, Yummy!

Wash it all down with a pot of beer and your day is set. Lovelly.

Kuruya @ Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan.

On the way back we pit stop at Kurume for dinner. A lot of the shops was closed since everybody went back to celebrate new years at home. Walk around aimlessly after exiting the train station and somehow managed to stumbled into this shop which was opened!

As usual order from the vending machine and pass the chit to the chef. This ramen might look simple, but on a chill cold night, this is such a comfort food. The broth was thick, noodles were al dente. Perfect.

Makino Udon Hakata Bus Terminal @ Fukuoka, Japan.

Back at the Hakata Bus Terminal station and this round we went to check out the udon at Makino Udon. Again the queue can be daunting but trust me, it's not that bad and worth your time.

Order from the vending machine and pass your chit to the server inside where they will show you to your table/seats. My friend ordered an udon with something like a cucur udang/prawn cracker on top.

I had the beef as usual. Oh my, I think by far this is the best udon I ever had. The texture was outta this world. chewy? al dente? bouncy? Perfectly done udon noodles, the broth was light, not too sweet and you can top up the soup with the teapot on the side. I am still craving this udon even when I'm writing this. This is definitely one udon joint if I'm ever back in Fukuoka, guaranteed plus chopped I'll be back!!!

Hakata Motsunabe Maedaya 博多もつ鍋前田屋 今泉店 @ Fukuoka, Japan.

Dinner time and time to check out the infamous Motsunabe in Fukuoka. Motsunabe is actually a beef offal hotpot with so many restaurants specialising in this dish through out the city. We went to this restaurant called Motsunabe Maedaya.

They have English menu, so it's easy to order.

Some sake and appetiser to start. Forgot what beef dish was this at the bottom.

This is what we came for, the beef offal hotpot! Brimming with goodness. Just mix everything in and enjoy the succulent flavour of the offals with the broth.

Perfect for a cold weather. I keep slurping down the soup, damn good. Gotta try it at least once if you're in Fukuoka.

Nagahama Number One Gion Store 長浜ナンバーワン 祇園店 @ Fukuoka, Japan.

Fresh from our yakisoba we walked over to this ramen joint. There was a bit of queue when we got in during lunch time 1245pm. Don't worry the queue go by quite fast.

Not to worry, they have English subs for the menu. Yay managed to seat at the bar counter top, get to see all the action. Service was prompt and fast.

What else goes well with ramen, beer of course! This is a hearty bowl of ramen, broth was thick and nice and not the jelak kind. Eggs were done to perfection, look at that goeey egg yolk.

This is indeed a good bowl of ramen. No wonder there's a queue. Although the walk was a long one, but was well worth it.
