Ubuyama Place @ Aso District, Kumamoto, Japan.

After checking out from the ryokan and on the way back to Fukuoka City, we stopped by this restaurant called Ubuyama Place for lunch. This restaurant is like in the middle of nowhere. The views are simply stunning, lush countryside. I think the views itself was 5 star and what did we order? A pizza to share and one pasta each.

Blardy hell, the pizzas are to die for, simply good stuff. It seems they pride on themselves using local produce and it works! Everything was super fresh and simply delicious.

Pastas were generous portions even my friend was enjoying his meal(writing this down, I'm already craving the tomato pasta). If I was staying in this area, this will simply be my weekly hangout joint. The service staff was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Place vibe and the views are gorgeous. I am very impressed with this place. Thank you for having us!

Unakita うな北 黒川温泉店 @ Aso District, Kumamoto, Japan.

So we travelled to this town called Kurokawa known for its onsen for an overnight. Damn I love this small town, peaceful and kampong vibes. We stayed at one of the ryokans, beautiful. Another highlight of my Japan trip if you ask me. As we didn't book any dinner at our ryokan, the receptionist recommended this restaurant for us.

Cosy restaurant, shuts pretty early though. Ordered some fried crispy eel head for starters and some beers. Pairs damn well.

So far this trip haven't had unagi on rice yet. So this is one of my bucket list on this trip. Cooling weather with this comfy food. Oh yes, that hits the sweet spot. Perfect meal to end the day before retiring back at my ryokan. Of course on the way back there was a push cart by the street and had a few hot sakes to wash all the food down. Yummy!

Yakiniku Seikaen Nishinagazumi 本格焼肉清香園 西長住店 @ Fukuoka, Japan.

Was around this area to get some stuff and the sales lady recommended this place for dinner. Yakiniku! It was a Saturday night and the place is packed with diners. Had to wait for a bit before we got our table.

We just ordered a set from one of the menus for the two of us. Trust me, the portion was more than what we could eat. So better make sure your famished before coming here.

There were a bowl of salad, some beef(I think was tongue) and a bowl of bibimbap. This is for starter ya.

Check out the marbling on those beef cuts. The bbq pit is my first time seeing this, was gas and I think with some stones on it.

Another beef plate came in, damn this is a feast. On top of that the set comes with drinks and desserts. The meal was excellent.

Oyster BBQ Tokueimaru 徳栄丸 @ Itoshima, Fukuoka, Japan.

Woke up a bit late but thankfully managed to get here slightly after opening time. Was a nice drive to get here, plenty of free parking in front. This place rocks, one row of restaurants all selling more or less the same thing. They are only open during the oyster hut season so do check before coming. My fried did all the research and I was the designated driver lol. Anyway we randomly pick a restaurant and this is what we got.

Love the atmosphere here, laid back, mostly locals place is airy and comfortable. So many options to choose for seafood.

I think that notice is the table charge and max seating per session is 90 mins. Ordered the oysters and boy was it smacking good. Definitely fresh and you can taste the sea.

We went for the charcoal instead of gas. Everything was fresh, even the sausages tasted good(ordered twice).

The sashimi was an absolute delight. Yummy! More oysters we ordered and one portion of a collar bone of forgot what fish it was.

I love it, one of my favourite spots for eating on this trip. Service was fast and the staff? They even helped us book a slot on a strawberry farm. Very friendly, definitely 5 stars in my book. Thank you so much for serving us ;)

Nishijin Hatsuki Kuten Hakata Store 西新初喜くうてん博多店 @ Hakata Station, Fukuoka, Japan.

Another day another lunch and todays menu is syabu-syabu. This place is located in Amu Plaza. Amu plaza have two floors of restaurants and when we went during lunch time, there was queue everywhere. Damn so many people during rush hour, quite mad.

There were two sauces to pair with your meats and vege. The appetiser was nice, beer was refreshing.
We ordered one of the beef sets, check out the marbling, oh my!

Very very luxurious, portions were good enough for the two of us. We didn't top up any ala carte.

The meal was excellent, slowly enjoyed my lunch. I love the ambience in here, restaurant was big and airy. Had a zen like feel to it, unlike the outside which was full of human traffic.

Time for some Japanese style curry rice. As usual you can find any cuisine at the Hakata Station. Saw this shop as we were walking around and decided to check it out.

Menu is English friendly and they have tonnes of options to go with your curry rice.

My mates plate above and mine below. Oh my this is such a hearty meal. Portions were huge and the curry? Hits the spot, Yummy!

Wash it all down with a pot of beer and your day is set. Lovelly.

Kuruya @ Kurume, Fukuoka, Japan.

On the way back we pit stop at Kurume for dinner. A lot of the shops was closed since everybody went back to celebrate new years at home. Walk around aimlessly after exiting the train station and somehow managed to stumbled into this shop which was opened!

As usual order from the vending machine and pass the chit to the chef. This ramen might look simple, but on a chill cold night, this is such a comfort food. The broth was thick, noodles were al dente. Perfect.
