Cantonese Porridge @ Old Airport Road Food Centre, Singapore.

If there's any particular porridge that I like, Cantonese style is my preference. I just love the gooey lumpy taste. I happened to chance this stall for breakfast at Old Airport Road Food Centre, and it's yummy!

You can choose what particular meat to go with your porridge, I opted for a sliced fish soup with century egg.

Comes with you tiao, add some white pepper and a dash of light soya sauce, lovely.

Portions were quite decent, and honestly, I skipped lunch after having this, aha:) Good stuff.

Red Hornbill Sarawak Kuching Laksa @ Bedok North, SIngapore.

When a friend mentioned to me Sarawak Laksa here in Singapore, I had to go check it out. Came here on a Sunday morning, and boy was the queue long.

They have kolo mee and soya sauce noodle on the menu, but I'm here for the Sarawak laksa! It's been quite some time since I had a good one.

5 sgd for this bowl, and talk about the portion, damn was it huge. Ample prawns and shredded chicken.

The taste is there, delicious, but the broth could use a bit more thickening. A satisfying bowl never the less.

Turkish Kebab House @ Suntec City, Singapore.

Craving for doner kebabs, and I know this joint serves a pretty decent doner.

This round I opted for a doner kebab on salad instead of the regular ones that comes with a wrap or on rice. Needed some greens heh. The meat is just beautiful. Honestly one of the better ones in Singapore when I need my kebab fix.

The baguette is not on the menu, which I decided to get from Pullman Bakery to complement my meal.

Zaffron Kitchen @ East Coast Road, Singapore.

Came here for dinner, laid back casual dining setting, and good happy hour beer deal 1 for 1(Heineken pint was 14 sgd, so technically it was 7 bucks a pint!).

I was kinda sceptical when the menu came on an ipad, gosh, another hipster joint. I'm a bit of an old school, talk to the staff, ask them what's the special of the day, personal recommendation etc.  I miss that human element.

Chicken tikka, what an absolute tender pieces of chicken to start with. They do it well here, juicy indeed.

The one on the left is the Jaipuri vegetable, I'm more of a carnivore person, so I eat vegetables just to balance my bad diet:)

Seafood vindaloo, and this dish is my favourite for the night. Pair it with the warm naan, all I need is a good vindaloo sauce and naan.

We had three versions of naan, which was the garlic, kashmiri and lachha. All were equally good. First impression, I thought another Indian food pass off, but after tasting it, I would be back. And did I mention they have a 1 for 1 beer all night long? What's not to love, beer and good curry.

Teppei Syokudo @ Millenia Walk, Singapore.

Teppei open another branch at Millenia Walk recently, and what a good take away location for lunch! Parking is ample and the service is quite fast.

They serve some fried items for snacking or to complement your rice dishes.

I was just eyeing for the kaisendon on the menu.

And the star of the dish, check those thick cut slices of fish on rice. To die for, I could actually eat this everyday for lunch. A good place to satisfy your Japanese food craving on the go.

Beach Road Prawn Noodle House @ East Coast Road, Singapore.

Back on my weekend hunting food for breakfast, A good friend of my recommended this shop.

Jumbo prawn noodle, ooooohhh check the prawns out. The broth was good, prawns was to die for. For the price you pay, I think the portions was worth it.

Add the chilli gun powder and coupled it with cut chilli padi in soya sauce on the side. It was a good bowl of prawn noodles.

Geylang Claypot Rice @ Geylang, Singapore.

One of my favourite dining place for dinner, if I can get enough people to go. Best part, you can call in advance for them to prepare the claypot dish, as normally it'll take about 45 mins for it to be done. Talk about efficiency.

The infamous geylang claypot chicken rice, this is before they add the dark soya sauce and mixing it. A wholesome claypot of just comfort food. Chicken, lap cheong(chinese sausages), some greens on a hot cooked white rice to share with your fellow diners.

We ordered side dishes to share, thai soft shell crab, this stuff is awesome. I can't help myself stuffing down this dish. Just addictive when you coupled it with the Asahi beer on tap. Yes, coffee shop fine dining with Asahi beer on tap!

As usual some greens to balance out the dinner, crunchy and nice. As you noticed, we didn't order much as there was only me and another old good friend of mine. Simple dishes, catching up over beers and good comfort wholesome food. Top notch.

Rajah's Curry @ Corner of Still Road and Joo Chiat Place, Singapore

On a curry craving again, so when my friend suggested this place for lunch, I was like YES. Its been on my list for quite some time.

Both of us was kinda lazy to go through a fish head and opted for a fillet instead. The curry was good, felt like home cooked, it lacked a certain oomph, then my friend reminded me, that's because they never add MSG to it. How my taste buds has been destroyed with years of MSG, zzzzz. Anyway back to the curry, with no MSG, this is indeed a decent fiery curry. Been quite some time since I sweated eating a good curry.

Black sotong, I personally like it. Not many places can do a good black ink sotong, but this place nails it, and did I mention it was spicy as well.

Some cabbages to balance up the diet. Goes well with the curry on white rice.

Chicken masala, oily, spicy, flavoursome, succulent tender pieces. I'm not sure which was which, but I reckon this was the spiciest of the lot. The proprietor was friendly, good old fashioned home cooked food. I have found a personal favourite  fish curry in the East, and for this I will be back next round for the fish head!

Alt Pizza @ Suntec City, Singapore.

One of my office mates suggested this place for lunch takeaway, prices was decent, so I decided to give it a go.

Kinda liked the decor, trendy and casual setting.

The menu, quite an extensive one.

The Hangover pizza, I actually liked this, my kinda pizza, meat and meat.

Truffle Shuffle pizza, was decent.

Buffalo Bill pizza with added anchovies. This was my second favourite out of the lot. The anchovies was divine, gave a nice salty kick.

A vegetarian pizza called Krazy for Kale, I actually didn't try this as it was meant for those vegetarians in the office:p Can you believe it, this was the most expensive pizza compared to the rest, but I guess the quality and generous toppings justified it, and true enough, all those that tried this pizza admitted it tasted damn good.

The pizzas are good, next time I shall be back for their happy hours and starters.

Hajjah Mona Nasi Padang @ Geylang Serai, Singapore.

Fresh from my nasi padang escapade, and I'm back here again for another round. This time one of my favourite stalls was opened and luckily the queue wasn't that bad. The only problem, tables was pretty packed, so I tapaued instead.

8 pax in front of me, took me roughly 15-20 mins before my turn.

The wide array of dishes, oh my, if only I had more people on my entourage to sample all the dishes:/

This round I went for Nasi Jenganan, a standard set consists of from the left, begedil(potato cutlet), some vege(taugeh and greens to balance up the plate), paru(beef lungs) and tempeh on rice. If I'm not mistaken they put grated coconut on top, the orange coloured bits and pieces. Sambal belacan on the side, just a lovely and hearty meal.

Now, after queuing for some time, stuck looking at all the dishes, heh I had to order this siput masak lemak(snails in rich spicy coconut gravy). To die for, arghhhhh, just one of my comfort food, uber delicious.
