Restoran Orchard View Yong Tau Foo @ Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia.

So this is my first time going for Ampang ytf in Ampang itself. There's three shops here selling ytf, but my friend suggested we go to Orchard View.

Heh old school kinda setting, rustic. I like it.

Ordered a mix ytf, I personally don't like the chilli stuffed and bittergourd, told the lady to omit those items.

Dumplings in soup. The ytf was excellent, fresh and crispy. The chilli sauce on the side pairs well with it. The dumplings was another star, smooth and silky with a nice stuffing inside. Next time, have to try the other two shops around here.

Restoran Kin Kin Chilli Pan Mee @ Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia.

The original outlet is in the KL city, but I was around Ampang area and found out they have a second branch at Pandan Indah. Been quite a while since I had the original pan mee, as somehow the Singapore Kin Kin taste slightly different.

Dry pan mee, with minced meat, anchovies and onsen egg. Loved the runny egg yolk.

Comes with a bowl of vege soup on the side, very refreshing. That's the famous chilli in a tub, to die for!

Scooped like three spoons of the chilli, mix it all up. Yup, still taste as good.

As the bowl was quite small, I ordered a bowl of soup with ytf on the side. A very satisfying lunch indeed.

Ngau Kee Beef Noodles @ Tengkat Tong Shin, KL, Malaysia.

Back here for supper after some drinking session. One of my old favourites.

As usual my per order, mix spare parts beef with noodle. Broth was ok, the spare parts was good.

Dry wan ton noodle with mince meat on top.

Add a dollop of the in house chilli to douse up the dish. The dish was good, but somehow I reckon was better last time. I need to come back here and test again the dish. Was still a good bowl, but missing a slight oomph.

OM Burger @ Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia.

Whenever someone mentions to me ramly burger, this stall would pop up in my head. Some would call this burger stall the sloppy burger. Sinfully delicious.

Seems everything was pre/semi cooked. You order and they nicely grease it back hot.

This time I opted for the beef oblong burger special. Oblong in the sense the patties are rectangular in shape. Now ain't that a sloppy sight, nicely burnt beef burger wrapped in an egg and topped with cheese. Generous amount of mayo and chilli sauce. Oh the other thing the onions are fried, nice! Am sure there was pieces of lettuce and tomato slices somewhere in there. This burger stall is definitely tops on my list.

Nasi Lemak Royale Kedah @ Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia.

Nasi lemak but not, it's actually nasi kandar that came all the way from the northern state of Kedah.
I'm always up for a good plate of nasi kandar.

Ask for a plate of rice (rice is yellow in colour, they mix it with ghee, hence the lemak effect), choose your ingredients and ask for mix gravy.

Fried chicken is a must order here. As usual everything was pre-cooked.

Fried chicken, some chicken innards, fish roe and salted egg. The whole plate was commendable, but it did miss that slight oomph that I get from eating nasi kandar in Ipoh and Penang. Based on what my friend told me, the original outlet in Kedah tastes better, guess gotta go up one day to check it out. Still a decent plate to fix my nasi kandar cravings in KL.

O&S Restaurant @ Paramount Garden, PJ, Selangor, Malaysia.

Yeah finally managed to score the asam laksa here. Ordered from the aunty, she told me 45 mins waiting time. WTH, ok fine I ain't backing out as I had some time to kill on this Saturday afternoon.

Next hiccup, I can't find an empty table as it was packed. Well I had 45 mins to spare and start staring at people hoping for them to finish their food fast and take their spot. Yup sharing table here is a norm.

Honestly although the aunty and uncle was busing preparing the food, they were still friendly and chatty. No food nazi here. Malaysia boleh! Got my seat, went back told them where I was seated.

And I think my asam laksa arrived like 15-20 mins after I ordered. Heh well played aunty, only those who are willing to wait deserve your laksa.

The asam laksa was divine, generous portions of fish, soup was superbly robust, this is my kinda stuff. Hits the spot nicely, yummy! Next round when I come here, definitely gonna try the ckt, ytf, beef noodle soup, oops hmmm gotta try em all!

Choon Prawn Mee House @ Paramount Garden, PJ, Malaysia.

We were hunting for car park as we were suppose to go O&S restaurant, but after parking the car, it was nearer to this restaurant. My friend told me this prawn mee use to be in O&S but the owner went ahead and opened his restaurant. Was a hot day and this restaurant being air conditioned, we opted to dine here instead.

Ordered a lor bak to share, this was surprisingly good. Looked ordinary but full of flavours.

Ordered a prawn mee queen which came with big prawns, small prawns, boiled egg, squid, abalone slices, kangkung, taugeh and fried shallots. The broth, oh my, this is one top notch  broth. Seriously umami laden to the last bit. Portions are good, the prawns were fresh but I was more interested in slurping down the noodles with the soup. Good stuff!!!

Ah Cheng Laksa @ 1 Mont Kiara, KL, Malaysia.

Just my luck, they have a branch at 1 Mont Kiara. Heard a lot about this Ah Cheng laksa, which originates from the north, Kedah.

My oh my, what a succulent bowl of asam laksa this was. Pungent, thick, generous portions and the soup? Finished every last bit of it. There's even a nice fiery kick to it. I was sweating slurping this bowl down.

Well Cook Gourmet @ Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia.

Touched down Subang airport, straight we came here to check out the fried asam laksa. My first time hearing a place that sells fried asam laksa.

A wet poppiah for starters. This was super good.

The fried asam laksa, pffttt taste exactly like a soupy asam laksa except its fried. Not sure how the chef did it, but it did satisfied my cravings for an asam laksa. Good stuff.

Maybe after eating the laksa, I found the wah tan hor a bit bland. The menu is extensive, definitely would be back here to try the other stuff.

Poon Nah City Home Made Noodle @ City Plaza, Geylang, Singapore.

Heard about this famous ban mian stall at City Plaza, time to check it out. Came here on a weekday slightly before 12 pm to avoid the lunch crowd.

Early bird catches the worm, not many people queuing yet.

Ordered a razor clam ban mian.

Noodles were good, hard at the same time chewy. Portions was good. The green leaves gave a nice taste to the broth. Indeed this is a good bowl of ban mian. Love the soup. Oh and the chilli has a nice kick to it.

A portion of crispy foo chuk all for myself. Good stuff.

Thai Boat Noodle @ Golden Mile Complex, Singapore.

Friend in town and we decided to check out this thai boat noodle place in Golden Mile. Slurpyyyyyyy.

Came here slightly before 12 noon, wasn't that much queue. Lucky!

Ordered a beef noodle soup. Soup was robust and flavourful. Add your condiments, lovely. Generous portions, good broth, good bowl of noodle soup. Me like.

Yen Yakiniku @ Ann Siang Hill, Singapore.

A nicely closed knit of friends decided to bring me here for a special occasion. We brought our own whiskies and paid cockage. Good whiskies coupled with good bbq food. This place is a gem.

There's too many pics to explain. In a nutshell some of the beef cuts are US grade and some Japanese. Depends on your budget. Everything is done nicely and I'm sure it's umami to your taste buds, which I know I had. Was a freaking good dinner, I hope I'll be back in the near future. The pictures doesn't do justice, have to go and check it out for yourself.
