Seni Sattisorru @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Haven't had this in ages, so when my mates were going here for lunch, I decided to crash them. What's not to love about cooking rice in curry in a claypot.

They got some fresh seafood if that is your liking. Each claypot are made to order below.

Ordered some fried sotong to share, very addictive. I tried the chicken one before, but I still prefer the mutton. Claypot came piping hot, soaked in curry.

If you prefer a heavier taste, opt for the mutton. To die for! And chopped plus confirmed your afternoon session would be food coma.

Yarl Restaurant @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Fancy some Sri Lankan fare? Check out Yarl Restaurant at Brickfields. This post came from two breakfast sessions and one lunch. I find myself enjoying both breakfast and lunch here. Superb.

My mate had the stringhoppers, I went for the vadai and thosai.

Yup the thosai hits the spot, pair it with the chutney. Now if you're sweet tooth, make sure order the sweet appom.

That roll is very addictive, think they have chicken, mutton and vege roll. Below is the lunch session, I came back with another 3 pax to make sure can sample more of the dishes.

Damn, what a solid lunch and food coma afterwards. Love it. Oh, don't forget to order their hot coffee or tea to end the meal. Nice.

Anak Baba @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Friend brought me for lunch here one day, what a surprising find. No frills place for a quick lunch and the food is good too.

Friend had the nyonya laksa, I had one scoop of the broth, quite good. I personally ordered the  mee goreng, although it looks basic but it taste awesome.

Some dishes to share the fried fish with sambal, prawns in pineapple sauce and fried chicken. Chicken was alright, comfort food. The fish was good but I was busy slurping the prawns in that sauce. Gimme white rice and the pineapple prawns with gravy, absolutely smashing.

Cendol to finish the meal. Nice place, airy and comfortable. Food is good.

Om Pot Biryani (Mannpaanai) @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

If you want something good, you have to wait for it to be cooked. Best is to call in advance and make your order. Now this briyani is worth the wait, trust me.

My ice lemon tea was served in an earthen pot. Below is the claypot briyani freshly cooked and poured onto the banana leaf.

I ordered the mutton and my friend had the chicken. One of the best briyani I tasted, flavours were all nicely infused. Pair it with the spicy curry, yup this is one legit meal. Both the mutton and chicken were tender and smooth. My advice skip breakfast, indulge yourself to this hearty lunch and be prepared for food coma through out the whole afternoon in office. Amazing!

Restoran Sin Kee @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Haven't had a Hainanese chicken chop for quite some time, friend brought us here for lunch.

There were three of us, we decided to order some dishes to share.

Chicken chop looks messy but it tasted damn good! The fried omelette was nice.

So the mun fan here is the favourite, seems almost every table ordered this dish. We also ordered a hokkien mee.

Verdict, I like the food here, seems some people said the standard has gone down. Oh well, if I ever have a craving for a hainanese chicken chop, this place would definitely be one of em.

Banana Leaf Rice @ Vishalatchi Food Catering, Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Quick lunch before the flight back, my friend wanted some local lunch, and this place straight came up to my mind as it was nearby our hotel. Banana leaf rice southern indian style. Old school setting, long rows of table for communal seating to enjoy your banana leaf rice.

A standard set comes with rice on banana leaf, and three kinds of vegetables. I gotta admit something, place wasn't packed but service here was a bit chaotic. Had some problems with clearing the table, and getting our orders in, maybe place getting commercialized or maybe was just one of those off days. But halfway through our meal, there was a nice waiter who was attentive to us, good stuff, thank you!

On the plus side, the food is still as good as i remembered when i first tried this place years ago. The slice tenggiri fish was juicy and succulent. You have a few options for your curry ie onion curry, and something else which i forgot compared to your usual standard fare of chicken or fish curry.
