Yessy Cafe @ Senggigi, Lombok, Indonesia.

Came here for late lunch, place was empty with only another table being occupied. I guess Lombok is pretty laid back for a Sunday or maybe people tend to pass by here and straight to Gilis.

Ordered an ayam taliwang again. The gravy coupled with the chicken is a match made in heaven. With a hot steaming white rice, the meal is complete.

But us being us, we also ordered a gado-gado to share, sort of a local salad. If there's something they do best here, it's the sauces. The thick peanut sauce, sort of like a satay sauce, is super addictive, but hey it's a salad, so its healthy!

Roast House @ Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia.

Roast chicken in Gili? I was actually eyeing more on local food, but this placed was packed every time I pass by it, had to check it out what's the hype all about. Also my travelling companion did a google check and this place came out with good reviews:)

The guy told me it's gonna take some time for the food to arrive, but I ain't complaining as a big Bintang beer bottle here cost 30k IDR.

Quite a small setup for the shop, with tables laid out in open air. Word of advice, don't sit inside or directly in front of the shop, super hot.

Check this baby out, 40k IDR get's you a quarter chicken, heapful portions of potatoes, carrots and some vegetables.  Was it worth the wait? Yes! I reckon this was one of my best meal for this trip, big portions, affordably priced and it tasted damn good! The gravy complimented the meal well.

Scallywag @ Gili Air, Lombok, Indonesia.

Went to Gili Air for some island hopping, this place is much quieter than Gili Trawangan, perfect if you wanna spend some time with your love ones. I didn't manage to check out Gili Meno, was informed that island was more secluded, I guess for those honeymooners take note.

Scallywag has two branches, one at Gili Trawangan and the other here. Opted a simple mee goreng dish extra spicy.

If there's one thing in Indonesia that I can eat everyday, is mee goreng, They do it awesome, and the one here upmarket a bit, with loads of fresh seafood.

Prawns was super fresh, ample squid,  egg yolk was runny and the best part, I requested spicy, and boy was it super spicy. The generous amount of chilli padi made me sweat. This is a mean mee goreng, coupled with a freaking awesome view of the beach.

Night Market @ Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia.

This place is packed, and I mean packed! Basically outdoor sitting with rows of tables and numerous of stalls to order your food from. First and foremost I would like to apologise as I'm not sure which stall I ordered the food from, but I'm sure it all tastes good, I think...heh.

Ordered satay with a variation of chicken, beef and fish. Now the sauce is similar but at the same time tasted different from the norm that I eat, nevertheless it's good stuff. The fish was chunky slices, chicken was small(I guess it's ayam kampong), and the beef was just nice.

Ordered a grilled fish, so many fishes to choose from, opted a local fish, very good marination and fresh.

Grilled sotong, my favourite for the night. Overall there's plenty of other dishes to choose and order, but we kept it at a bare minimum as the night is still young. Off for drinks after this.

The Beach House Resort @ Gili Trawangan, Lombok, Indonesia.

Straight to check in, dump my bags, and off to the hotel's cafe/restaurant. Next few posts you gonna see a few ayam taliwang, as it's the local dish for lombok. Ordered my ayam taliwang, Bintang beer, and chilling enjoying the view of the beach.

The plain rice was superb, local salad was delightful crunchy with a mix of sour spicy sweet taste, and the chicken with the gravy, good stuff. It tastes a bit like rendang but at the same time not. Good start for my trip.

Marry Brown @ Senai Airport, Johor, Malaysia.

Woah, its been ages since I had Marry Brown chicken, brings back some nostalgic memories. I had an early flight to catch and this is one of the few places which were opened. A bit weird to have fried chicken for breakfast (they have other stuff as well), but heck it's Marry Brown!

The skin was done well, and the meat was juicy. The bun was tender soft. Yups one of the old school fast food fried chicken as I remembered it, and still good at it.

L32 Kopitiam Ban Mian @ Geylang, Singapore.

I noticed a long queue here past few times, did some googling, seems it's quite famous for its ban mian. As usual, had to check it out. Ordered a slice fish ban mian dry with egg.

Prices a bit steep for a coffee shop, but it's good stuff. Dry ban mian with generous portions on ikan bilis, slice fish and mince pork. Soup on the side with an egg.

Mix up the gravy, add on the chilli and boy this noodle packed quite a punch. The chilli is absolutely feisty. I won't compare to some of the other ban mians. as I find this deserve its own following. One of my upcoming comfort food to come.

Warung M. Nasir @ Killiney Road, Singapore.

Was in the vicinity doing my errands and came here for a quick bite of nasi padang.

A piece of beef rendang, sambal goreng and fish fillet asam pedas on a hot bed of rice. Ok prices are a bit steep, but understandable as the rental around this neighbourhood can be expensive. Beef rendang was tender and good, sambal goreng was decent, the fish fillet was so so, but the gravy and sambal belacan was excellent.

Ah Bong's Italian @ Tiong Bahru, Singapore

This time I'm back here to try this italian stall managed by a young chap. This stall has been gathering some good reviews online lately.

A simple mac and cheese, with crunchy bits of bacon and mushrooms. I decided to top up with truffle oil. Good stuff, wished I had more room to try the other pasta dishes, especially the birthday pasta, it looked good when another customer ordered it.
