Jin Hua Fish Soup @ Maxwell Food Centre

was craving for a fish soup, and boy this didn't disappoint me. The queue was at least for 30 minutes,

first time ordering here, decided to go for mixed fish beehoon soup with milk. 5sgd. Beautiful.
Minus the queuing time.

The Chop House @ Vivocity

woke up with a massive hangover and what better way for a cure,

butchers bleeding mary, their style of a bloody mary. it's good, and yes you saw correctly, there's a piece of bacon inside!

some crispy calamari for sharing, it's okay nothing to shout about.

Mussel soup was good, i liked it, although could have used a bit more oommph.

A friend of mine had the USDA rib eye 200gm. 36sgd.

And i had the new zealand sirloin 200gm medium rare. and i must say for 27sgd it's affordable. i didn't like the wine sauce though. But they have 3 other sauces on the side to pair with your steak, some beetroot thingy, don't know what mustard, and some onions. The onion sauce is good.

totally forgot to take a pic of the cheesecake, it was awesome.

decent place, decent pricing.

asam laksa @ penang seafood restaurant @ aljunied

yesss, theres only a handful of places that serves asam laksa in singapore, i've been through a few, and imho this is the best. first off the gravy looks weird, but the taste is there. might be the generous amount of fish they put in, hence the gravy is thick compared to the usual watery/slightly clear broth.

this is the closest as you can get in singapore, although some might beg to differ. My benchmark would be ayer itam laksa market in penang itself. although i was only introduced to that stall few years back, that one came out tops.

This shop serves other sze char dishes as well, good recommendations from what ive read, but yet to try, will definitely check it out next time with a bunch of people. Oh, do check out the Prince fried bee hoon, its a killer!

nasi lemak @ amoy st food centre

yeahhh, talk about nasi lemak. this is one of the tops. cheap and good!

don't forget ask for extra sambal. chicken wing, otah, crunchy ikan bilis+nuts, fried egg(the yolk was runny!) and fish cutlet. and all for a whopping sgd 3.30. After the meal, top it off with a glass of teh tarik behind this row of stall, quite  a famous one as well.

ramen keisuke tori king @ 100am shopping centre.

theres a few ramen shops in singapore. and i would say this is one of my favourites.

ok the deal here is, hard boil eggs and the bean sprouts are for the taking. i normally stuffed my mouth with the beansprouts as the marination is just damn nice. the ramen is nice. soup broth is thick and good. and don't forget to pair the chicken with the inhouse chilli dip. chicken pieces just fall of the bone, nice!
