Rumah Makan Minang @ Kandahar Street, Singapore.

time for some nasi padang, and this is one of my top favourites contender. Rumah Makan Minang.

rice with fried chicken with green chilli, sambal goreng and fish cooked masak lemak style.
Food here never disappoints me. Polished the rice, and down it with a teh tarik, just lovely comfort food.

Hock Lam Beef Noodle @ Far East Square, Singapore

haven't had a beef noodle for quite some time, opted to go back to Hock Lam Beef at Far East Square.

Ordered a mixed beef koey teow dry, add on tendon. Was good, but if i remember correctly, was way better first time i had it roughly 2 years plus ago.

This store has been renovated twice since my the first time i went. Price wise went up as well.

Ramen Dining Keisuke Tokyo @ Parco Marina Bay

There's a few ramen joints, and this is one of my favourites as weekend its not packed, and ample parking space.
This round i tried the shoyu ramen, tokyo style.

As usual being a keisuke, the beansprouts are free, i just can't get enough of them.
But this outlet does not give the usual hard boil eggs. Not that i eat it anyway.

The eggs in the ramen was good. yolk was semi runny. Somehow this being my first time trying a shoyu base. I find it a bit too salty and the broth thick.

This outlet has the crab stock broth. Which i found the last time i tried, Good! I'll stick to the crab stock next time i come back here.

Han Kee Fish Soup @ Amoy Street Food Centre, Singapoere

one of my favourites saturday morning brunch if i can wakeup. This fish soup is by far my all time favourite.
the soup is in my personal opinion less sinful than the rest. they give generous portions of fish, i guess thats why the price is a bit steep. this cost me 7sgd.

and yes thats fish roe! i'm such a sucker for fish eggs. this round i chose to have with beehoon, or you can opt to have it with rice on the side. I have to say it again, it's good, and the aunties are not obnoxious, every single time i come here, all of them was nice and friendly.

Jang Won Korean Restaurant @ Mosque Street Singapore

managed get a few friends for some communal dining, and we headed to Jang Wong Korean restaurant.

they serve quite a good spread on the side dishes. and the server was nice every time when we wanted to top up.

order the pancake, quite good. boneless beef ribs which they cooked behind in the kitchen (or you can have the option of grilling it at the table). Very nice wrap it with the lettuce, chilli paste and some oil.

and lastly the stew. generous portions, comfortable surroundings, would not mind coming here again, if i can gather enough people to share the food.

Soon Li midnight YTF @ Bukit Merah view

at last, been wanting to try this yong tau foo, and after 45 mins of queueing, managed to get my hands on it.

the queues is a bit horrendous, but its worth it.

opted for the dry version, gave me a soup on the side. noodles and quite a few pieces of ytf as above, costs me 6sgd. i think this is a bargain.

soup is tasty, pieces of ytf is good. will definitely come back, if someone would queue for me:)

Teppei Japanese Restaurant @ Orchid Hotel, Tanjong Pagar.

woah, this place never lets me down. maybe because it's cosy, ambience or the friendly people mending the place. or just good food.

prices went up(as i mentioned in previous post, inflation is creeping everywhere). this round took the omakase set 80 sgd. I'll let the pictures decide.

good starters some vege and radish.

the third item was i think this funky sticky tofu, which i always find the texture weird, but surprisingly enough taste damn good! it's the small dish next to the sake.

Ya the reason why i keep taking the picture of the sake, is to explain further down some pictures of the food will be missing. ;)

their sashimi is good, especially the dark colored fish pictured above. i would order extra but i know more food is to come, better not.

thats actually two dishes, was busying kampai. the hand roll minced tuna belly is shioks.

 some grilled fish.

oyster was good and succulent.

teppei san preparing the beef dish.

and this is the final product of the beef serving. main star of the night for me. it just melts in your mouth. savour it nicely.

some seafood soup/broth, its good and refreshing. Oh, that white stuff on top is damn nice!

to top it off, you have a few options to decide, some sushi, fried rice or noodle, and me being me, chose the sushi. if you still not full from the whole omakase, then i'll suggest go for the fried rice, make sure you tell them spicy.

Burger Bakar @ Desa Sri hartamas KL

after drinks, was gamed for good old fashioned ramly burger for supper. been hearing alot about this burger bakar place in desa sri hartamas. So decided to give it a try. it's a stall situated near KFC opp bestari. u won't miss it.

thats the look of the stall, with two guys mending it. that night there was only two types of patties available, chicken or lamb, opted for lamb. The dude asked me, what would u like to be inside, told him just everything the works which normally happens after drinks for supper;)

and it just looks messy. you'll know its good if it's messy!

quarter bite, yes mushroom tomatoes i think was lettuce, and lamb patties. damage was 16rgt. woah this is one gourmet burger by the road side. But i have to admit, this is one burger i don't mind coming back for. it's worth every buck. they're not shy with their ingredients!

Yu Ai Seafood Noodle @ SS2 PJ, Malaysia.

haven't had this one in awhile, and boy was this good, still good. prices went up, can't blame them with inflation fast rising. go for their signature seafood noodle, you have 3 broths to choose, clear, tomyam or curry, and type of noodles.

not many people know, or maybe i'm just weird, but i let you decide, just try order a mix broth of tomyam and curry, damn! it's good. regular portion is rm19 as the one above. expensive, yes but every scoop you'll take will definitely have a seafood in it.

Don't forget to add the sambal chilli, it's a killer and goes well with the soup. Seafood consists of generous portions of cuttlefish, mussels, lala, salmon fillet (they were using a different fish last time, which i prefer, wished they can give us the 2 option as i find eating salmon on a local dish a bit weird) and prawns.

Bah Kut Teh @ Kedai Kopi Taman Eng Ann, Klang, Malaysia.

just what i needed for supper, something hot and soupy on a cold night.

old school rustic kinda feel.

you have to order the yui tiao, as it soaks up the soup good.

as a side, chopped green chilli padi, chopped ginger, light mixed with thick soya sauce. and, you have to add alot of fried shallots on the rice. soup meat rice, lovely. the broth is balanced.

Rakuzen Japanese Restaurant @ Plaza Damas @ Hartamas Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur

Good japanese food, value for money, consistent quality. i have to admit, Rakuzen has never let me down, well the outlet in Plaza Damas anyway. Can't really vouch for the other outlets as i haven't been.

the lunch menu, i took the sakura chirashidon zen (rm38, woah what a stealer)

the set, i swapped the chawan mushi for a salad instead, some small appetizer, sashimi on rice main (loads of fish on it) miso soup and dessert. It's damn worth it, and quality uncompromised.

Yut Kee Restaurant @ 35 jalan dang wangi KL

old school hainanese kopi tiam in KL. although i found this place late, i can't vouch how the food differs from olden days till now, but i still like it.

being an old school hainanese coffee shop , they would have the usual western stuff, pic above is the chicken chop. Nice, just the way i remembered it growing up.

ok this kopi tiam is infamous for its roti babi(pork bun).

Check that out, ahhhh yummy. add a bit of vinegar and its good. Been here couple of times, i think it tasted better last time. But it's still good.

sambal belacan fried rice, my personal favourite. This round i added salted fish, and damn i'm gonna order it this way the next time. and yes add the green chilli padi every time u scoop the fried rice, heaven.

Ain't this picture looks rustic. Inside of the coffee shop.

Ryoshi Sushi Ikeikemaru @ Liang Court Singapore

Sashimi sushi pang, was in a hurry, odd hours and no queue, i'll go here for convenience. Been here a couple of times, was good. yes, Was good. i'm not sure what happened this round, the cuts were smaller, and a bit more expensive, or maybe i just chose the expensive stuff.

can't go wrong with salmon sashimi, wished were bigger cuts sigh.

salmon roe, i just love salmon roe, talk about oily goodness!

one thing good about this place, they're not shy about their sakes. i think this was 17++, they pour the whole shot glass, overflow the thing into the wooden box, so u'll get about roughly two to two and half glasses. i reckon its value for money, and its always good to wash down raw food with some good sake.

Vietnam Cuisine @ Hong Lim Market & Food centre

was walking around to hunt for breakfast and chance upon this stall.

i just had to try the pho, it's just one of the dishes that i have to eat if i see one.

took the assorted beef pho and for 4.50sgd, i must say i have no qualms about it. the meat is all tender and good, i love spare parts. koew teow was nice, but the soup could have use a bit more oomph, but hey for 4.50 i can't complain. another stall i don't mind comin over and over again.
