Vintry Damansara @ Damansara Heights, KL, Malaysia.

Came here for a quickie happy hour over some red wines, ended up having a scrumptious dinner.

First up was it the mamak mee goreng or maggi goreng, no difference. Good stuff, check out the greens on those, the only healthy ones I had for dinner.

Excellent, can't go wrong here. The fried rice below looks plain but packs a decent punch.

My personal favourite was the Hokkien mee. It was so good we ordered a second plate. Didn't know they serve awesome Asian food here. Something new I learn everyday.

Hokkien Mee @ Restoran Kim Lian Kee @ Petaling Street, KL, Malaysia.

So I was walking in to this restaurant and my friend dragged me out, we need to sit next to Hong Leong bank outside. I was like what the heck? You forego an aircon section and forced me to sit outside although both was Kim Lian Kee?

You gotta order the koew teow with the egg yolk dish, damn it's good. The lala below was good, broth had a nice umami taste to it.

The hokkien mee was the star of the night but I find the bee hoon below stole the show as I reckon it soaks out the sauce nicely. Damn all the dish was good. Now correct me if my friend was wrong, if you eat outside the dishes are cooked with charcoal. And if you dine inside the restaurant the aircon section it's all cook indoor with gas stoved. Well for me the outdoor section the food was tasty, not sure whether its the placebo effect.

Yeap you gotta order the extra bowl of umami to complement the meal.

Restoran Sin Kee @ Brickfields, KL, Malaysia.

Haven't had a Hainanese chicken chop for quite some time, friend brought us here for lunch.

There were three of us, we decided to order some dishes to share.

Chicken chop looks messy but it tasted damn good! The fried omelette was nice.

So the mun fan here is the favourite, seems almost every table ordered this dish. We also ordered a hokkien mee.

Verdict, I like the food here, seems some people said the standard has gone down. Oh well, if I ever have a craving for a hainanese chicken chop, this place would definitely be one of em.

Hokkien Prawn Mee @ Red leaf Restoran, KL, Malaysia.

On a prowl of a good prawn noodle, did some survey, vkeong came out on google hits. Went and check it out.

I gotta say, this is indeed a good bowl of prawn noodles. The broth reminds me of my childhood memories. I'm certain the uncle took great care and boil/cook the broth for a long period of time to achieve this standard instead of short cuts. The flavour was just sublime.

Add a dollop of the sambal and its a masterpiece. Definitely a keeper.

Kedai Kopi Dan Makanan Ming Hoe @ Jalan Ipoh, KL, Malaysia.

Going for supper and we checked out this place in Jalan Ipoh for its black hokkien mee.

Ahhhh the dish is divine, nicely done wok hei. Pair it with some chilli padi, garlic and soya sauce, lovely.

Ordered some fish cakes on the side in case we're still hungry. Definitely a good place to go for supper. Slurps.

Geylang Lor 29 Fried Hokkien Mee @ East Coast Road, Singapore.

Came here for lunch and I gotta admit, this is a good plate of fried hokkien mee.

The portion was big, not stingy on the ingredients and the wok hei is there. Bonus tip, order the orh luak/oyster omelette to share.

Plumpy oysters and I like the style of the omelette, a bit gooey.

Hokkien Mee @ Geylang, Singapore.

The hokkien mee at this coffee shop is well known, the queue is perpetually horrendous but you will get a window pocket of time, when there's no queue, so try your luck.

5sgd plate of hokkien mee, sinful but simply comfort food. Comes with three super fresh prawns, some greens, squid, cut chilli and sambal on the side. There's a reason why the stall is packed all the time, it's delicious! Enough said.
